I have owned and operated a cleaning business for 18 years. My theory for brevity is "Less is More"When I clean glass,I rarely if ever use any product.Take a clean soft cottoncloth, and wet it with hot water.Rub it on the glass, and wipe dry with another dry soft clothThe second cloth will clear away any smudges or streaks. In my opinion,Windex is the worst product on the market.

Methylated Spirits in a spray bottle and a soft cloth, - I used to work on Heron Island and this is what we used on the glass display cubes in the resort shop.

I personally recomend a product called Nilglass.
http://www.nilcoproducts.com/automotive.htm
Its a bit more commercial use than around the house but it is safe. Spray it on and polish off with some kitchen towel.
It really is better than anything else on the market.

after you have cleaned the glass you need to buff it up with a soft dry cloth, that will take out any streaks.
