is it better to include all activities ever done in high school on an app (for example, recreational swim team, etc), or pick and choose the most impressive ones to highlight. i am applying to harvard, and i don't know if i should include all high school activities i have ever done. (i'm afraid i might be diluting the effects of the more impressive activities by including every single one of them, but then again, if i don't, i'm afraid i might be leaving something out that they want to see)

Put first the ones that you gained awards for, were voted as "player of the month/year", the ones that were the most important to you, and gained you notoriety. By all means list what you can, but start with the ones that will get you recognized first and foremost. IE: if you applying for a basket ball scholarship, don't start with activities starting with ice skating. the relevance is very small. Good Luck.

Yes put all that you have done, it shows you as a well rounded student, just put you most impressive up at the top. If you don't have enough room, still put you most impressive up at the top.
College is very competitive
You want to stand out and look better than the person across and next to you.

Toot your own horn.

I would put them all on there. There is nothing more impressive to a college then seeing that you are active in many different things. Shows responsiblity to your commitments and that you are not afraid to get involved.

this is fairly mild on the APs. consistent with danger you would be wanting to take English AP instead of Honors? once you're college delivers it it is. you're able to be making plans to take various APs in Senior twelve months, yet colleges do not look at senior twelve months that lots. they look greater at Junior and sophomore twelve months. right this is my Junior time table (i'm a sophomore, i've got only optioned for it). Time to talk (stupid required direction) AP artwork history AP Human Geography AP Calculus BC French 2 AA (AA=Honors) Chamber Orchestra AP English i've got not got any sciences using fact each and all of the AP sciences are a million.5 bells, so i visit take 2 (AP Chem and AP Physics) in my senior twelve months.

I would include all your activities. Your activities are usually a second level of screening, not the primary one.

Talk to your guidance counselor. They will help you sort them out.
