its fine to be 13 and not have it yet. people start at different ages, i know someone who got it when she was nine, and i also know someone who got it when she was 14. your genes can also affect it, so ask your mom when she got hers, that might be an indication to when you might get yours.
i got mine at 11, same age as my mom when she got hers. it was really no big deal, i was taught everything about it, so of course i knew what to do. at first you'll think that it sucks, but eventually you get used to it, its just a part of life. i didnt start getting cramps until a couple years later, so when that comes you have to learn how tho deal with them too. you learn little tricks along the way that works for your body. for instance, when i get cramps i have to stand up and stretch. for some reason this works for me but noone else.
i'd suggest you carry some pads in your backpack or purse, just incase it happens when you least expect it, it wont leak onto your pants.

I got it when I was almost 13 ((: I heard that the age of when your mum started menstruating is around the age you'd have it.

Don't worry about it. Take it easy and there's absolutely no rush for you to have that now!

However, if you are overweight (which I don't think so), chances are, you might start menstruating much much later.

If you're still worried, make an appointment with your GP ((:

mine is easy to remember 'cause it happened on Halloween when i was either 11 or 12. it doesn't hurt WHILE u r having your period, u really don't know until u feel your pad is getting wet. what does hurt is the cramps. OMG sometimes i am in so much pain i can't even get out of bed! what helps me is eating. A LOT! especially bananas! they help a lot! also lying on your stomach will ease some of the pain. a few days before you start u will feel sick and after the first 3 days the cramps will go away. be sure to record it and how long it lasted and don't worry it will be irregular for a few years or more or less. i wish u luck!

I got mine the morning before my first date! It was horrible. I was so upset, but the hormones are like a roller coaster. My mom was trying to make me feel better and she kept telling jokes. Soon, I was laughing while I was crying and couldn't stop doing either. Don't worry, you quickly get a handle on things and you get used to your period and everything else that goes along with it. It is not going to stop you from doing anything.

Anyway, there are some things that will stave it off. Primarily, if you are active you may not see your first period for a while. Do you play any sports or run? That might be why you don't have it yet. Or just because it is not your time.

All women are different. Some start as early as 10, and as late as 19. For the most part, menstration is based on what age the woman's mother started, but that isn't always the case. Don't rush it! It is not all that it is hyped up to be. I was 12 when it happened to me, as was both my daughters. My youngest daughter was excited about getting hers, and now just over a year later she dreads it soo bad! Some clues to look for are breast growth, and underarm hair. When you start noticing this happen, it usually won't be long until you begin your period. Talk with your mother, she will be the best person to go to for advice. Good luck!

I was 11, but that's pretty young.
As far as I know the most typical ages to start are between 13-15.
Don't worry, I know someone who didn't start until she was 17.

well, to tell you the thruth, i was only 11 or 12 when it happened to me but don't be to dissapointed in that, you will have it in the right time and age. like you, other women don't have it for this even if they are already 13 years old like you. you know?, sometimes, women that is older than you, don't have it yet but they don't lose confident and trust to theirselves.

It is just the body saying that it is prepared to reproduce. I was nine when I started. It is normal for people to go to age 16 without starting. If you are concerned. talk to your mother or MD about it. I am sure they will be happy to explain it all to you.
