It sounds like it...i'm 39 weeks today and yesterday the same thing happened to me. I kind of panicked a little as it seemed to be tinged with blood so I called L&D and they explained that not everyone loses their plug intact and that you can lose it over a few days. It's normal in color if it's slightly brown or pink...it's even clear sometimes. All it means is that you're close! I want this over with and was hoping that labor would start very soon after...still no little one! Hang in there, it'll be any day now...good luck.

It might be - but then again it could just be the normal excess discharge that goes along with pregnancy. How & when you lose your mucus plug is different for every woman. Some women lose it a little bit at a time over a course of weeks.... while others lose theres in a big glob either weeks before labor or just before the onset of labor. Still other women (like me) don't even lose theirs until they are actually in labor... I didn't lose my until I was IN LABOR about 3-4 cm dilated. The little bit of slimy stuff may be your cervix thinning. At 38 weeks (which is how far along I am too) it's only a matter of days! Good luck to you!

It could be, but losing the mucus plug doesn't necessarily mean labour will follow. You can lose it up to two weeks before giving birth.
It is really hard to be patient at the end of a pregnancy, but that it what learning how to be a mother entails. The patience you develop now will help you manage for the rest of your life as a parent.

It's really not an issue- you can lose your plug weeks before delivery or right before. I would guess you wouldn't even notice. It probably has already come out when you had a bowel movement. The slimy stuff is Leukkorhea, normal pregnancy discharge that increases closer to your due date.
This is my second and I am 38 weeks and haven't noticed mine yet. Don't stress, just prepare for the really busy and TIRING weeks to come. Good luck!!

Most of the time you won't even know when you loose it. But no the discharge that you are having isn't your mucus plug. You may have already lost it and that's why your discharge has been slimy. You'll go to the doc soon, just tell him what you think and he will discuss it thoroughly.

I'm in the same boat sweetie. I am over 38 weeks as well and have not noticed the loss of my mucous plug...I have been wiping little clumps of mucous every time I go to the bathroom...I am assuming it is my mucous plug slowly coming out. But my sister lost hers 2 weeks before she went in labor for both her kids and my cousin lost hers an hour before she went into labor for her little girl. It all depends. I wouldn't worry. But if it becomes a big concern you can always talk to your doctor or a nurse!

Most likely it is.. You can lose it a bit at a time over a few days. But it doesn't mean you are going into labor. Sometimes it can take a few weeks after the plug comes out. However, mine came out a little bit over two days and the second day my water broke! Good luck! And always ask your doc if you are concerned about anything!

It probably is your mucus plug. I lost mine all at once, but some people lose it over a period of time. Regardless, it means NOTHING...I lost mine at 38 weeks...I'm now 41 weeks pregnant and STILL waiting...

With my first son I lost my plug 12 hours before I had him and I had him 4 days before his due date. With my second I lost it 4 hours before I had him and he was 3 weeks early. Every baby is different honey it will come when he is ready to come. Try to relax and get some rest your gonna need it. :)
