What, he's going to impose martial law?
Like, what freedom do you Americans have anyways?
You are being racially profiled,
your phones are being tapped by big brother,
Your mails are being read,
Countries that you consider allies one day are called enemies the next day (You are asked to hate them, and start calling French fries freedom fries. Do you still call it french kiss, or is it now called democracy kiss?),
You are called traitors if you do not agree with state policy and indulge in "Bush-bashing"
Your country is nowadays in a continuous state of war, and mass hysteria caused by this war is being used to manipulate you.

If he was going to do it - he would have done it on 9/11. Baring any sort of attack on the country, natural disaster (worse than Katrina), there's no real rationalization for it to happen.
Plus, there'd be so many objections - from everybody, Republican's and Democrats. The Supreme Court might even weigh in on the issue.
I do recall hearing a rumor that Bill Clinton was going to do the samething after the 2000 presidential election because of the recount mess - and then that way, he could stay in office.
So no - not going to happen.
If you read the link below - it talks about court restrictions limiting the declaring of martial law in the U.S.
One example, martial law cannot be declared while when civilian courts are in operation.
So - Bush would have to shut down the courts - which would be difficult sense the judiciary is considered a seperate branch of government. Then, he'd have to get Congress to overturn the Posse Comitatus Act - which prohibits the military from being involved in domestic law enforcement.
So - it's not going to happen.

There are two stories you should read. I think they were both written by Ray Bradbury 40 years or so ago. They are both 'FICTION', yet both are about Bush. The titles are "A sound of Thunder" and "The Generallisimo's Butterfly". The first is what the movie was based on, but the movie did not address the political issue. The second is all about Bush's spying on his own people.

Martial Law? Has the military occupied the USA? Is the law in your community enforced by the US Military and not your civilian police?
Liberals.....always, always finding some way to cover up their misunderstanding that we are at war!

I think he's doing whatever he can to save our country and its citizens. If you have nothing to hide who cares who's listening or watching? Some of the surveillance techniques have saved us from being attacked again. When will Americans stand up for our country instead of always taking up for everyone else. I'm hoping to have a free country for my children to grow up in.

People will write anything. Will you believe everything if somebody bothers to write it?
This writer's interpretation is somewhat influenced by his political views, wouldn't you say?

all it would take is one more good "terrorist" strike ... either real or fabricated ... and americans will taste the bitterness of martial law ... we have allowed it to come to this ... us, by our apathy and ignorance.
