first of all drink plenty of water, get yourslef some echinacea, zinc and ginko biloba tablets, they will assist you in removing the infection, when you go back to bed lay with several pillows underneath your head and back, so that you are in a half sitting and half laying position, next when your just about ready to fall asleep, do some deep breathing techniques and slowly count to ten then close your eyes......from there you should be able to drift off.

Try listening to my brother practising his Spanish for 4 hours.Works for me. Or,plenty of hot drinks and Paracetamol every 4 hrs to bring your temperature down.Warm milk with brandy...not at the same time as the pills.Prop yourself up with pillows to lessen the coughing.Hot lemon drinks with honey.Keep reminding yourself you'll feel better tomorrow and great in a few days.Get well soon

take a really hot bath to help clear your system then get as many pillows as you can prop them on your couch arm and try to lay there. The elevation that the arm of the couch and your piillows may help lessen the cough and keep you confy enough to sleep

Go see a doctor. It could be something worse than a cold. Those cough medicines suck! So don't buy them they are a waste. You possibly need something else.
If you don't treat the problem then how do you expect to get better/sleep?

Use lots of pillows to prop urself up it shud help with the coughing also use some aromatherapy oils or some menthol crystals. Hope u get better soon. x

Take tylonol pm ot tylonol simply sleep. Use a humidifier. Use over 1000 mg of vitamin c a day. drink a lot of water.

dont lay down flat. get some extra pillows and prop yourself up a little and that will help loads. maybe some nice hot tea too. dont overmedicate the truth is you gotta let it run its course so why tear up your stomach. and a hot steamy shower before you lay down is da bom ( baby magic vapor bath rocks too)

Here is the magic cure. You heat up equal parts of lemon, honey and whiskey. Drink it as is or you can put it in a cup of tea.
It will knock you out and is soothing to your raspy throat and sore lungs.

probably you are suffering from Tuberculosis , go for a checkup :-s
and listen to some slow and soothing music to fall asleep :)
