Hhm i remember watching Twin Peaks in its time and loved it but eventually like yourself I gave up watching simply because i missed too many episodes. It was definately a good programme to watch and the film was very good.
With Lost it opened up to a great beginning and the quality of writing was excellent. Each episode was powerful and full of highly charged drama and suspense. The character developement and insight into each personality got you hooked and I became obssessed with it.
However the second series has been a bit of a let down. Although the acting and story were still strong it did not compare to the first series. In the whole 2nd series the story felt rushed and it didnt seem to go as deep and insightful as before. Jack and Sarahs relationship was hardly defined and as was Charlie and Claire when during his cold turkey we didnt see enough of his torture and the icy relationship with Claire which should of been viewed through the continuing episodes. The monster was also a large let down. While we seen it in detail in season 2 that was the last time we saw it and it wasnt seen or heard of again. Walt obviously has some kind of power but is was not explained either.
Im only hoping ìn season 3 that all these mistakes are rectified or delved into more deeply. But im being optimistic over the matter and cant wait until it starts.

First 16 episodes of Twin Peaks were about as good as TV has ever been....basically until we find out who and why she was killed.
(Leland Palmer)
Lost lacks the originality of Twin Peaks, so being more mundane, it is likely to go on for a lot longer, and it has.
Lost is okay, but nothing truely special
Twin Peaks lite

yeh i think eventually it will suck...they just go on for soooo long i loose interest...many people who began to watch lost from the beginning have LOST interest...quite funny, the link between the name of the show and people interests...anyway yeh it will be a let down... the show will go for a few more years...but in the end is it possible to create an ending for that show..where all the questions be answered...it would have to be highly eventful..but in the previous history of losts episodes they prob will end with a bang

I think LOST has some secrets up their sleeves. I heard the "others" are actually Dharma scientists and Jack and Claire are brother and sister. I do not think it will lose your interest unless you let it. Every show has its bad episodes. Just hang in there. It's going to get good. Very Very Good.

Laura's dad killed her. You obviously didn't watch much of the show.
