Everyone is different, and each pregnancy is different. I had severe morning sickness the whole 9 months for both my pregnancies. What helped most was eating mostly whole grain foods, fresh vegetables and fruit. A friend gave me a macrobiotic cookbook and I was able to eat most of the items I prepared from it. As sick as I was, my kids absolutely were worth it! :)

Good luck to you and hope you feel better soon!

I am over 38 weeks along and I have only had 3 cases of morning sickness and none in the morning...where as my sister with her first baby was admitted to the hospital for 5 days in her 3rd month because her's was so bad. She couldn't even hold down liquids. It depends on the person. And your stress level. I am not a very stressed out person where as my sister was going through a lot of stress. There are many things that factor into morning sickness.

Unfortunately, morning sickness can get to be pretty awful. So bad that you can barely function at times.

I've had days at a time of eating nothing but plain bagels and water.

Try everything you can to get over it on your own first.

Here are some things people have found success with :

Saltines
Ginger Ale
Peanut Butter Crackers
Plain Dry Toast
Flat Soda
Preggy Pops (available online or at Motherhood Maternity)

I don't really recommend the preggy pops myself because I thought all they did was temporarily take your mind off the sickness because they tasted so bad. Otherwise they did nothing to help.

For me, the soda and the toast was the remedy.

But unfortunately everyone is different and you'll have to try different things before you find what works for you.

If it gets really bad and nothing is helping, ask your doctor because there are some safe meds that you can take to help with it if it's extreme.

Best of luck.

remember a lot of it is in ur mind, so try to relax and not think about it. however at times it is inevitable.i'm pregnant rite now and this time around it was bad, i mean up to the 5th month....however what helped me is ginger, raw or in tea form, but raw is best (2-3 slices). make sure u eat it with something that has flavour cause it tastes awfull. also there are pills for morning sickness...costly, but better than hugging the toilet all day long. ultimately i hope u get no morning sickness
i do wish u the best of luck and most importantly a healthy baby.

It depends on the individual, some women can get vomiting and nausea many times a day for the first couple of months, others don't get any of those symptoms. If you do get bad morning sickness then it's best to consult your doctor..as you need to make sure that you and your baby are both getting the nutrients you need..
For mild morning sickness, ginger tea works wonders..also dry toast.Congratulations! Don't be scared, it's really not as bad as they say..you've got the "happy hormones to look forward to", not to mention many other beautiful things ..enjoy your miracle!

I have 3 girls. I was fortunate enough that my husband had my morning sickness for me all 3 times. Speaking for him...it was bad. He threw up 3 or 4 times every morning before he got out of the driveway to go to work. It lasted the whole pregnancy all 3 times.

with mine I didn't throw up too often but I was nauseous from the time I got up in the morning until the time I went to bed at night for 5 weeks straight. I got some pills from the doctor and I think they stopped me from throwing up but they didn't help with the nausea. It was Hell!! However, it is worse if you do throw up constantly because you can get dehydrated and undernourished and end up in hospital on I.V.
And then there are those who get very little sickness or none at all. Hopefully for you, you are one of those people. I dont think what you mother went through or sister went through has anything to do with what you will experience. My mom and my sisters pregnancies were all different from each other and from mine.

Everybody is different but speaking for myself I had it bad. The first trimester was hell for me.. I was so tempted to have an abortion because I was so sick, I could not eat alot of things, I could not smell things, I was just a big mess.

Now that I am 28 weeks, I can't believe how great I feel...

Not all get morning sickness I have episodes of nausea that resolve in about an hour and it only happens about 1-2 per week..so maybe you won't get it badly.
