You won't find a cheaper courier, than Royal Mail, for lightweight items. Not many places will take something from one side of the country to the other, for under a quid!

For heavier items, then try Staples, Parcelforce, DHL, the Post Office etc.

Type in 30kg parcel in an ebay search. There are a couple of users, such as parcel2send, who sell parcel collections. You basically buy it now, pay and then send your details and the delivery details. They pick it up the next day and act as a courier. I haven't used them personally, but they are very highly recommended.

If you are in the UK, it is still the post office. I have found that fed ex etc tend to be rather expensive, esp if you are shipping overseas (post office charged me £15, fed ex wanted to charge me £80 for the same parcel)

The United States Postal Service is least expensive, and, in my experience, is every bit as good as the commercial delivery services.

None of them are particularly cheap unless you have a contract or some agreement with them. If they know that you will send a lot of stuff with them, they will try to offer you a competitive rate.

Depends on size and weight.

Small items like sunglasses and CDs---Postal Service
Larger items (TVs, stereos, etc.)----Fedex (pricewise)

Note: For really large items (cars, motorcycles, etc.) try

Check with ups ground. Its fairly cheap, and reliable. It also gives you confirmation that the package has been received.
