Well a kimono is made of fine silk and brocades. If you are talking about an authentic kind of kimmono then it could range from a few hundred dollars up to thousands of dollars. If depends on the material and sometimes the material has some kind of hand painted art on it. Which makes it extremely expensive. But they are so beautiful, it it worth every dime.

Kimono has many types and styles. Price depends on many things. Simple cotton kimono is in moderate price starting from US$ 20, usually as in-house/home wearing. The price of sylish , silk and kimono for wedding ceremony can cost more than $20,000.

My reliable sources (a.k.a. regular tour agent) informed me that a genuine kimono from Japan cost S$4000. At least, that's what she paid for hers. She spent a week in Tokyo and her living and shopping expenditure came up to S$10000!
