Gravity is always pulling everything together, and as all that matter struggles to get to the center, the result is a sphere. If there were a cube, the corners would be crushed down "flat" against the surface. Since "down" is toward the center of the mass, the natural shape is a sphere.

Planets are spherical in shape because of their rotation and the gravitational tug on their mass.
The spin causes the planet to buldge slightly at the equator, as the centrifical force pushes against the gravitional tug towards its core.
The pull of gravity works to pull everything down equally, so as more matter is pulled together, the core exerts a stronger pull which tugs even more mass towards it until its own mass has smoothed it out enough to be seen as a sphere.

Not every object in the Solar System is spherical. The asteroid 10 Hygiea (the 4th biggest asteroid after Ceres Pallas and Vesta) is oblong shaped.
The recent IAU definitions of planet and dwarf planet do require a spherical shape to qualify an object as either of those. If they aren't speherical they will oresumably be in the "small Solar System bodies" category instead.

When planets are formed, they are very hot (either gaseous or molten), and, as they have been thrown out by stars, they are rotating on their axes, this means that due to the gravity in their mass, and the centrifugal forces of the rotation, that they re shaped into the roughly spherical shapes that you see in the night sky...

Because when the galaxy was formed, all of the little particles floating around came together, and formed a sphere shape.

Because when they spin they always form a circle. Remember when you were a kid playing "whirl" and you always formed a circle no matter whcih way you were spun?
