It's red, a bit scaly, makes it hard to move the upper lip, when I put fingers on either side of it (one on it and one in my mouth) there's a hard knot or something. A couple of people said it is still healing (it's 3 weeks since the accident) from a bad abrasion. I want to see what more people thinK.

It takes time to heal fully and rest is required for better and early healing. Since lips are one part of the body which cannot be given sufficient rest because of their use during speaking, eating, yawning, etc, it will take more time naturally. You must avoid to unduly stretch the injured part of the lip during speaking, eating etc and try giving it relative rest. Use some lip cream or paraffin for your lips and avoid finguring the injury.

It could be something foreign under the skin that has gotten infected. I had a similar situation on my foot once... A hard knot developed under a callouse. I lanced it and got a ton of puss out of it along with a small splinter.

I would go to a doctor if I were you, it could be still healing, but it could also be something more serious!
