Is this all about the royal dodo bird? aka Prince Phillip?
There is precedent for calling the consort of a reigning Queen a Prince. For example, Prince Albert was spouse to Queen Victoria, and that worked out just fine.
In any case, it won't be a problem in the foreseeable future. Charles will be king, with or without Camilla by his side. If she stays with him, she will be Queen Camilla. William will be king, and he will likely have someone by his side, who will also carry the title Queen. So for the next several generations at least, there is little likelihood of a female monarch sitting on the throne, and perhaps by the time that happens, the protocol will have been revised.
But king and princess? Never heard of that combination!
Elizabeth's parents were King and Queen. His parents were King and Queen. And His parents were King and Queen, too. So where are you getting this 'only in fairy tales' routine?

I'm not sure I wholly understand your question, but the reason the husband of a Queen is not called king is because a husband's status is never determined by his wife. For the same reason the husband of any woman with a title in her own right will not have a title. When Philip married Princess Elizabeth in 1947, he did not automatically become a prince of the United Kingdom. He had to be specially created a Prince by King George VI, Elizabeth's father. The only time in history this country had a king and queen regnant (as opposed to a king regnant and a queen consort, which is the norm) was William and Mary in 1689. However a king does determine his wife's status, and there has never been a king and princess reigning together. In law Camilla is Princess of Wales, but bowing to ill-informed popular opinion they are simply not using that title since people associate it with Diana.

Don't think we even need a royal family anymore, when the Queen dies, I don't think we should have a new ruler out of respect! Charles is too wimpy to be King, Camilla is a dog, and we all know about Harry and his little indiscretions. I think William would be a good King, but because of the power this government has got, is there really a point to the monarchy? I mean, a few OBE'S here and there and a speech at xmas. Why bother?

All to do with Primogeniture.
If Prince Philip was "King" he would be of a higher rank than the Queen.
However as he has no right to the throne (married into the family) that would be totally ridiculous.
If and when Charles becomes King, Camilla would technically become the Queen of Britain and her Commonwealth and we would have a King and Queen again. However, she has decided that it may be more sensitive to name herself "Princess Consort" to protect herself from readers of the Daily Mail.

There have been Kings and Queens of England. It is usual for a male heir to the throne who marries to make his wife Queen on the event of his coronation. Henry VIII's wives were Queens were they not?

When a male ascends to the throne he is King, and his wife automatically becomes Queen
When a female ascends to the throne, then she becomes Queen and her husband becomes Prince regent
That's the way it is in england, always was and why should it change?

Your mind seems to have drifted Far-far away. Greetings in la-la land, I visit there sometimes too... How about the kings stay kings and the queens stay queens and those who are kings and prefer to be queens have the freedom to do so? High time don't you think!?
