I was listening to the Notre Dame/Georgia Tech game on the radio yesterday at around 11:00 PM. the announcers kept saying "Notre Dame is moving left and right" and "Georgia Tech is moving left and right." What does it mean to "move left and right."

The term is used to give you perspective from the press box. From the broadcaster's viewpoint, the teams are moving either left to right or right to left.
