Pull out the outer corner of your eye, to the side of your head, where the hairline is. Then grab the pencil and draw a line from the inner corner to the out corner, focusing to keep as close as possible to the lash line. Keep letting go of your eye-lid and making sure you don't apply too much. It's all practice! Within a few months you'll be able to do it with no problem. ;)

I like to use a magnifying mirror, it helps you see more in detail when you are applying make up. Lots of practice helps to get it just right. You can always use a moistened q-tip to help erase mistakes.
Here is a site that tells you how to apply eye-liner if you want to take a look at that.

Putting on eyeliner just takes a lot of practice! I would recommend starting with an eyeliner pencil instead of the liquid kind that you have to paint on. You can also create the illusion of eyeliner with eyeshadow that is dark and applied with a small brush just under the bottom of your eyes.

Try a pencil first and you have to practice a LOT! Keep a Q tip handy for those quick little mistakes. Find one that doesn't smear
and is long lasting.

apply it in 1/4 inch lines, instead of trying to get the whole eyelid in one go. if it helps, make little dots every 1/4 inch, and connect them.
