As many have said...drink plenty of water because you are dehydrated...but here is why. Alcohol blocks an Anti-Diuretic chemical that is released by the brain (this keeps you from peeing all the time) hence why you pee alot when drunk. The headache and "hungover" feeling you are having is due to the effects of dehydration, and the lack of both Sugars and a vitamin called thiamine (Vitamine B1). Thiamine is not created by the body, and we only get it through the foods that we eat. Your brain needs these things to function properly. In Chronic alcoholics they develope what is called alcohol induced psychosis. This is because all they do is drink, and very seldom do they eat, in which they would get the required sugars, and thiamine that their bodies (and brain) needs. As a Paramedic I am called upon may times, by patients (and close friends ;p) because they have over endulged the night before. The usual line of treatment is a IV of either Normal Saline, or Lacated Ringers (which has a mixture of electrolytes) usually 1000mL to start with some added D50 ( a sugar solution given IV), Phenagren (for nausia), and Thiamine. Usually I recommend to people drink either copious amounts of water or gatoraide (or any sports drink). This is because not only do these drinks have a mixure of electrolytes, but has lots of sugars. Also take Aspirin for the headache, mainly because tylenol and motrin + Alcohol doesn't mix. Plus eat foods that are rich in Thiamine such as M&M's, Pork, beans, whole grains, wheat germs, and nuts. Hope this helps, and have a wonderful day ~Cheers

I can't tell you any surefire cures, but I can tell you how to not get a hangover next time:

Pace yourself and be sure to have a glass of water between every two drinks or so. (Hangovers aren't too much more than simple dehydration.)

Its a combination of dehydration and alcohol poisoning. The alcohol can be flushed out faster with fluids; so re-hydrating solves both problems. Watered down orange juice or 50/50 flat cola and water will rehydrate you fastest.

Drink water, have a banana, spend 15 minutes in the shower (to rehydrate), and go for a 15 minute or so walk. Get moving.. do not stay in bed.

hang-over is caused by dehydration experienced by the body due to high alcohol level. its no rocket science if you need a quick fix.take a glass of squash or any kind of juice drink(not fizzy) and put 3-4 spoonsful of sugar.i know it sounds yuk but this way u'll get ur dehydration and low blood sugar sorted.

A white powder which comes from the mountain regions of south America is your best bet, if you know what I'm talking about.

You'll be on your feet in minutes.
