I have a name in mind and I am curious to see if anyone else has the same. This mans voice, well the word beautiful does not do it justice. It is beyond that. Everytime I hear it tears come to my eyes. It could really calm the most savage beast. So name some and lets see if anyone has the same one in mind.

Thanks I will try to find some of the singers you all speak of. Nat King Cole is the one I think of.

Well, I can tell you who it isn't. Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Jessica Simpson, Madonna, Paris Hilton, Janet Jackson, Beyonce. I hope this narrowed it down for you.

I'm shocked to see that a couple people named two of my personal favorites: Sharon von Adel, and Tarja Turunen (I'm listening to her former band, Nightwish, right now, lol).
With Tarja, my opinion is that the three songs she sounds the best on are:
1. Bless the Child
2. Ghost Love Score...the song that showcases the unsurpassed talent of keyboardist and composer Tuomas Holopainen. WOW!
3. Planet Hell...it's heavy, but the lyrics make me want to cry every time I listen to it.
Andrea Bocelli is amazing. He brings tears to my eyes.
Sarah Brightman is fantastic.
Charlotte Church, though young, is a phenomenal singer.
Chris Cornell is very underrated, but he's got an awesome voice, too.
David Draiman, lead singer of Disturbed, when he's not trying to hack up a lung while singing, has a beautiful voice.
Liv Kristine Krull of Leaves Eyes is also fantastic.
Kate Bush, OMG she rocks!
Tony Kakko of Sonata Arctica. Listen to him on the song "Letter to Dana." That song makes me want to cry every time I hear it.
Patsy Cline. Need I say more?
Karen Carpenter. Again, no further explanation is needed.
Sarah McLachlan...wow.
Geoff Tate of Queensryche, very underrated and underappreciated, but BEAUTIFUL voice.
Freddie Mercury...the world lost an amazing singer the day he died. RIP Freddie.
Ann Wilson of Heart, especially on the earlier albums, like Dreamboat Annie.
James Maynard Keenan, of A Perfect Circle and Tool. It isn't always evident, but his voice is just...breathtaking.
The list goes on and on. Considering the amazing singers we've had just in the last 30 years, it makes one wonder what beauty voices held before we were able to immortalize them using modern listening devices, eh?

I think Lisa Gerrard has a beautiful (and unique) singing voice. You can hear her on the Gladiator soundtrack.
I also think Aimee Mann of Til Tuesday fame has a great voice.

It depends on the genre, but if you're talking general, then I would say Sharon Del Adel from Within Temptation. It's a symphonic metal band (from Finalnd I think, but English lyrics). Download their songs "Memories", "Angels" and "Ice Queen". I am in awe of how amazing those vocals are. STUNNING. MESMERIZING.
