Right.

You need to take into account all kinds of stuff. Have you done market research to see if there is a market for what you will be doing...... in your area?

To estimate a job...especially a mechanical job......

Call-out charge. If there is some way to fix this into your final charge ....if you get the job...most people waive this....in other words you incorporate it into the final charge for the job.

Parts. You will have to source the parts, order them, be there to take delivery, pay a delivery charge..most people add on 40% to the actual cost of the parts. To charge to your customer.

Man-hour charge. What is your time worth? How long is it going to take to do the job? In UK the going rate is about £35 an hour. Don't know what that is in dollars.

Consumables. Filters, fluids(Brakes, hydraulic, engine oil,....seal kits....) At least £10 a job.

You have to build in a little bit for cost of help......office clerk etc....
