She needs psychiatric help. Do not dismiss this as something she won't do. She is thinking about it and has communicated her desire to die. This is the first sign of someone who may really do it. If your friend is a minor, talk to a parent, teacher, councilor, clergy member, etc. Let them know of this. She needs help. How would you feel if she actually did it and you knew you could have prevented it?

You should take her seriously, whether or not you think she will do it. Try talking to her about why she feels this way. Even if she is not suicidal, she is saying this because she is trying to get the attention of the people around her. It might be she just needs someone to listen to her.

Your friend said that maybe because she got something really depressed and found no ways to escape from her problems, so I think you should spend more time with her, listen to her carefully, find out what is happening to her, and find solutions to her problems. If you can not, ask for others' help. But the importance is that you should always be with her, find something fun to make her forget all the troubles, make sure you are her reliable friend.

The talkers do commit suicide. You need to start trying to get her to a psychiatrist immediately.

I guess that she is probably feeling lonely or neglected and am looking for a way to seek attention from you to comfort herself. Perhaps the wise decision is to seek an adult that she trust for help or you may recommend her to go for counseling.Don't worsen the situation by telling her she won't commit suicide. She may just do it in order to prove you wrong.

My sister swallowed enough pills to kill herself a few days ago and escaped death by an hour. You need to find out the reasons she wants to do it for, and what's behind it. Start from there.
