Why the deafening silence?

Well, since the real feminist zealots like Gloria Steinem (sp?) don't really care about anything or anyone but themselves and their 15 minutes of fame--why would forcing millions of Chinese women into abortion bother them? They are complete traitor's to their own movement when the issue isn't convenient for them. Remember Paula Jones? Steinem took slick Willy's side by sighting a 'boys will be boys' attitude...........LOL, what a hypocrite!

I take it you mean: why don't feminists in the West (not feminists in China) get angry...?
China has a huge problem: with 1.4 billion people, which is more than 4 times, nearly five times, the population of the US, they are a crowded and over-populated people. Population has to be controlled. Abortion is one way. Sterilization of some is another. While there are some government officials who go overboard about abortions, abortions are also not forced in many cases: college girls who get pregnant want abortions. If a couple in the city wants to have more than one child, they can provided they pay a "fine" or a premium. Farm families often have more than one child (for example, if the first two or three are girls, they have a third or fourth hoping for a boy). If the people were allowed to have as many children as they wanted, the country would collapse into anarchy and destruction from too many people, too little food, and not enough jobs. If you've got a better solution to the problem of controlling a population, let's have it...

Why should they? They applaud the Chinese, and want the same thing here in America. If the feminists ran things, only female babies would be born, and all but a few males would be aborted.

Feminists WANT abortions to take place...as many as possible... they have no reason to complain about the abortions in China.

The NOW gang, Planned Parenthood, and all other abortion groups make millions and millions of dollars off of abortion. No matter where it's at.
Every single dead baby means money in their pockets.

They do but nothing can be done . China adopted a population control that has met with the world calling it barbaric .THIS practice has not ended and we still trade with them .THIS is what i always point out .THAT some nations until they meet certain standards should never be traded with or supported .

I'm not a feminist, but my point of view is that they're doing what's necessary to curb a very real population problem.

Feminists are not pro-abortion as your question implies. They are pro-choice. Women should be able to make that choice for themselves and not have any government (or anyone) tell them what they can or can not do to their bodies.
