They were threatening me and my family.If I had gone to the police I would have been wiped out so I dealt with them before they got to me.Now I'm looking at a jail sentence. All I done was what I thought my government would do in this situation and now I'm being punished.What's the difference? I followed their example

First, I believe that this is a somewhat disingeneous way of asking why it is ok for government to attack and not for us.
Simple answer, is they have the power and make the laws.

You should be more careful about the company you keep.
Never mind - ask the court to allow you to serve the time for not paying your TV licence fee at the same time!
Every cloud has a silver lining, and as you have "dealt" with the problem, presumably you are no longer living in fear.

They don't sound that dangerous to me, if you could just wipe them all out like that.
If you knew you were capable, you should have waited for them to attack first, then wipe them out in self defence.
Get a lawyer.

You followed the Governments example
So you arrested them and read them their rights?
Then you hired a lawyer for them and had a trial?
I think it would have been easier to move.

You must have proof in court how dangerous they are.find yourself a lawyer and explain everything to him he may help you to appeal against the court`s decision.
I guess you have aright to do that.
