122. DON'T QUIT YOUR DAY JOB YET. One day you are a drone, slaving away for an employer. The next day you are a glamorous free-lance pursued by affluent clients. No, it does not work that way. The best approach is for you to get some consulting engagements while working on a regular job that makes your mortgage payments. Gradually accumulate enough reputation and long-term projects to make a transition to full-time consulting. Don't be sneaky, though. Inform your employer and get permission. Some of my successful consultant-friends have a mutually-beneficial arrangement that enables them to work part-time both as an external consultant and as an internal consultant for their corporation. SAP stands for System Application Program.

Wikipedia defines ABAP as Advanced Business Application Programming, a high level programming language created by the German software company SAP. It is currently positioned as the language for programming SAP's Web Application Server, part of its NetWeaver platform for building business applications. Its syntax is somewhat similar to COBOL.

Since COBOL happened to be a programming language for business application which is not so difficult to use once you get used to it, I believe that ABAP too should not be that difficult.

Hi Sap is a business management software tool used world wide in industries.
it is a tool if used correctly is extremely useful to speed up a business.
All of the big oil operators use it as a maintenance coordinating tool / operating system like the Microsoft soft ware.
It can be used of the shelf, for things like stock control, control maintenance or expanded to cover every aspect of running a company . But it relies totally on proper input of all the desired functions that a particular company dictates to its staff. if this is not done or bogus info, is input ed it will give a false impression of what a companies is doing
It is not difficult just requires the correct in putt of info, within a month you will be OK with the basics if you use every day (tip) try and use short cuts to get you into system quickly,
Regards, Chris

We use SAP at work, think it stands for System Applications and Processing, but not totally sure. Not too sure about programming, but as it is a software system I would think that it does need programming.
Why not look at WWW.SAP.COM to find outmore?
