Yes there are three kinds of railway lines
Gauge means the distance between two parallel tracks
1.Narrow Gauge: It generally cannot handle much weight,it is less costly to construct, particularly in mountainous regions. The width between the tracks is 2 ft (610 mm).
2.Meter Gauge:1676mm or 1m
3.Broad Gauge: The broad gauge trains travel much faster than the metre gauge trains because the rails are wider.
