If you decide to work and excel in telesales you should:
- have very good communication, people and negotiation skills;
- be patient, polite and customer-oriented;
- adapt quickly to new situations;
- have a "can-do" attitude, initiative and enthusiasm;
- always have a smile on your face - people you're taking to can "hear" your smile and will be more willing to listen to you;
- try not to present smth to them as if you're reading; try to involve them in a conversation; ask question whose answers will help you sell a product/answer; lead them to what you want to tell them with questions;
- last but not least, a pleasent voice would probably be very helpful;

heres a hint,dont ask for someone by their first name!i think its very rude for someone to ask for someone that they dont know by their first name!so i always hang up after telling them so!
