Now you have me thinking!
Dracula with Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing. Much of it was filmed at Black Park which is close to Pinewood Studios and I used to love that park as a teenager!
The Omen with Gregory Peck. The scene where the priest was killed by the lightning rod is a church just off Putney Bridge. I used to live in Fulham. Other parts of the film were shot in Bishops Park. I frequented that park as a child.
IT! The book by Stephen King was far scarier than the film, though.
The Mummy with Boris Karloff. I think that this was because it was the first horror film that I ever watched. I am the perfect viewer for the producer. I never see the things that I am not supposed to, such as strings and wires - I get too engrossed in the story.
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. That queen when she transformed into the witch still scares me!

1. Texas Chainsaw Massacre - one of the only villains that runs as fast as hell its terrifying!
2. House On Haunted Hill (remake) - because of the horrible blurry head shaking shots of the 'ghosts' - creeps me out!
3. Saw - When he hacks his own foot off and minutes later the killer gets up and follows after him, you dont see what happens and the fact its left to your own imagination is the worst part.
4. Hellraiser - The killers are monstrous looking and the ways they torture the victims makes your skin crawl.
5. House Of Wax (remake) - several moments like the chopping off the finger, being alive while coated in wax and when the wax is peeled the skin comes away.
Those are the top scary moments in horror for me, but my top five horror films are 1.Scream, 2. Halloween, 3. Nightmare on Elm Street, 4. I still know what you did last summer, 5. April Fools Day
Hard to pick a top 5 i love horror films!

The Exorcist -- no contest! I'm not usually spooked by movies, I find them either silly or too obvious, but that's so bad that I wish I hadn't even ever seen it. First saw the sequel, which was crap, then went to see the first one thinking it would be the same sort of nonsense - and ended up not sleeping an eyeful that night!
Fahrenheit 9/11 is also pretty scary, although in a completely different way... ;-)

The original Frankenstein ..it seemed so real and it was like it was a true tale.
The Exorcist
The Shining starring Jack Nicholson
The original movie "The Fly" especially the ending scene is haunting with the human head screaming "Help Me" as he is caught in a spider's web near the park bench as the detective believes the bereaved wife and releases her from her arrest as the murderer. If anyone remembers that scene, the detective actually kills the fly with a heavy rock,so in reality he is the murderer.
Wizard of Oz...i know it may not be scary now..but as a kid I had nightmares of the burning witch.

Thinking about it, I would say a movie from a few years ago, The Sum of All Fears (2002) scared me the most in thinking about possibilities.
Other than that, I would say the Alien series. I will always remember seeing the first movie. My wife was holding the large bucket of popcorn, when the Alien made its first sudden appearance. I never did know where the bucket went, but I could clearly see where all the popcorn went.
