The ongoing economic boycott continues only because of the rapid opposition to its abolution by a large group of politically active Cuban immigrants to this country.

It is clear, looking at recent history, that we would convert Cuba to our way of life much faster by participating with them economically.

Look at mainland China for example

If for no other reason it has been the right thing especially since they allowed Russia to put missiles in over there in the 60's and almost started a war with us for having missiles placed so close to us. President Kennedy would not back down and forced Cuba and Russia to remove them.

as soon as "ZZ TOP" checks out, that place will be another "club med", Cuba is hurting, the US washed their hands with them, all thats left there is the old American stuff, and the cheap junk that the Russians sent them. The soviet union is gone, so they are struggling for sure, I always felt sorry for the cuban people, their gov't always gives them a raw deal, any cuban that I've met has always been a very hard worker, and a nice person.

The economic boycott achieved its objective of bringing down the Castro government didn't it? Oh, sorry, I guess it didn't. But we have to be patient, and stay the course. Castro will be out of power in a few years, analysts say.

It's be going on for about 40 years now. cuba country be a wonderful country now if castro wasn't such an ***! to bad a whole generation that will never see a cuban cigar.

Do u think it is making life for people living in Cuba easier? I don't think so. I think it is a lazy was of trying to bring about change ...but it is better than bombing people.
