It is believed that sex ed results in fewer teen pregnancies and stds, because kids are more aware of how to have safe sex. This is a matter of debate, but it's believed that by educating kids about it at a young age, it will decrease their chances of trying it just out of pure curiosity, and if they do try it, they're more likely to do it safely.

Because there's a lot of disgreement on this matter, it's one of the few things that parents can choose to opt their kids out of.

1. It is scientific/biological information that educated people should know.

2. It helps adolescents understand the changes that their bodies are undergoing.

3. It gives students the knowledge base to make informed decisions about sex - including whether to have it and how to use protection if they do.

4. With very rare exceptions, every person will eventually have sex. It is in their personal interest and society's interest as a whole that everyone understands the how's and why's of sex. It should not be a mystery to people. The physical, mental and emotional consequences are too serious.

5. People need to know what to do when things go wrong. Girls need to know how to tell if they are pregnant, and what their options are. Everyone needs to know how to tell if they have an STD, and what to do.

6. Lastly, eventually students will grow up and want to have children. Sex education prepares them by informing them about the process so they can have healthy pregnancies and healthy children.

Sex education is a must. We have learnt so much about the human body and I think our children must not be deprived of what knowledge we have gained.

We all were not so lucky. Sex is such that it is a natural curiosity and we all had to learn by the trial and error method.

We all very well know that by practising unsafe sex our children may be in grave danger of contracting the deadliest diseases we know of. That is why I feel that if our children are enlightened about this topic they will not repeat the mistakes that we had done.

well sex education is nothing about sex but this education is necessary for mantining a platform where a man and awoman can stand without any fear (even they dont know each other).\
if u know about STDs,only and only then u will pwerform a safer sex.or no sex with awrong person . thats why this education is necessary to fill the gap between a unknown man and a woman

Where else are these kids going to learn about sex? You would be surprised the questions kids ask becasue they have no ther way to get their questions answered. They definitly need the answers becasue not knowing could be harmful or deadly!

hey

sex education is not needed at all coz every individual knows how to do , what to do , but mostly dont know how to perform safe sex , if at all we teach them that this it what safe sex is then also there will try the unsafe method ,

coz its human habit to do ,what is told to them not to do
so they will again try unsafe sex .
they are also chances that the innocent also start thinking of ,
hey when this is safe sex then i should perform it , and here comes the question of throwing an innocent in to dig .

so the conclusion can be sex education is not at all nedded
for the present generation.
but if we see aids , for ur kind info its not mostly in educated people but it is in illeterate people mostly ,
so we should make prog's such that these people get aware of it

The need of sex education is to not infrom kids "How to do it", but to inform them of the responsibility that comes with it. Safe sex (all deseases that can occur); Emotional attachment; getting hurt by being permiscuous (sp ?); and other things to be concern with. I think that sex education should include "WHAT UNTIL YOU ARE MARRIED"!
