Philippine Airlines has a straight flight to Los Angeles. That is the most convenient and fastest way. But if you want a cheaper fare, you may try Eva Air, China Air, Cathay Pacific, etc.... I would highly recommend that you contact a local travel agent preferably IATA member so you can have a best discounted rate. Of course, it will all depend on your departure date, validity and restrictions. They will be able to offer you different airlines. Shopping around will help because each travel agent have their different profit margin... you want to look for wholesalers....
good luck! if you have trouble finding a travel agent, email me back and I might be able to refer you to someone who is reliable....

For comfort like others mentioned, I would go with Philippine Airlines (If you do I suggest you register w/ Mabuhay Miles (free frequent flier program) cause you could get a good amount of miles from this trip especially if it is a roundtrip). Also it's just plain easier if you have connecting flights in Manila and the terminal in Manila for Philippine Airlines is so much more comfortable than the hectic International Terminal everyone else uses.
However, if you're looking for flights that are a bit cheaper and don't mind connecting in Hong Kong or Tokyo then you should try out Cathy Pacific, Japan Air Lines, Korean Air, Northwest, or Eva Air. There are a couple more airlines too.
But again I recommened Philippine Air, and if you have the cash going Business Class isn't so bad
