the best computer for?
there is not a best computer in general.
If you are a gamer, you may want a top 3D graphic card, while if you are an architect you prefer a "state of the art" 2D cardwith dual monitor support to use with autocad.
If you want to run a webserver, you will choose a very high performance CPU with lot of ram and SCSI discs.
For video and audio editing, you will care a lot about sound card.
In few words, the best PC is the one that offer the best performance for the job you need to do.
My old P4 1,6GHz with 512Mb ram is more than enough for my office usage, while it is absolutely crap if I try to run a videogame.

The best computer:
Processor - As many cores as possible, with the highest clock speed (GHz) and cache size (MB).
RAM - As much as possible (GB).
Hard disk - As big as possible (GB).
Video card - The higher the model no., the better.
In short, go for the extreme - biggest, highest, largest....
