On XP, when i go:

>LocalAreaConnection
it says 'Speed:100Mbps'
I just wondered what this was, i know its not my internet speed,
is it the max speed of my network card?

From what I see, your computer should be connected to the internet through a router. The 100Mbps speed means that the computer is connected to the router at that speed. It is also the maximum speed of most network cards.

yes it is the max speed of your NIC, and it has nothing to do with your router in anyway shape or form. Please don't tell me you have Comcast.
