I think exploring spirituality is something similar to what sometimes happens to philosophers who become obsessed with theories...it is like going to the deep end of the pool and holding your breath to see if you can reach the bottom...the problem is there is no bottom, and most people don't take into account the amount of air they'll need to reach back to the surface.
