You can't... it's a rabbit!!! It's not extremely bright. It must chew things to keep it's teeth from growing too long.

Get a cat or a dog. They make better house pets. A LARGE percentage of people know this. Why don't you???

Buy some Bitter Apple or Bitter Orange spray at any Petstore (jncluding the big chains). It shouldn't stain your furniture (test a sample piece first near the bottom of your couch) and supposedly tastes disgusting. It's good to keep dogs and cats from biting furniture and cords-why not rabbits, too?

Rabbits can be trained. I recommend using a spray bottle filled with a diluted vinegar solution. You've got to watch him carefully and when you see him thinking about chewing on furniture (or whatever) say "No!" and squirt him with the solutuion. It won't hurt him and, with some consistency, it should deter him from chewing. Make sure to pair it with the verbal command so that eventually you may not have to use the spray bottle but instead can just use the command when it looks like he's about to chew.

Additionally, I highly recommend giving him something of his own to chew on, be it a carrot or a block of wood. Rabbits chew naturally, they need to in order to stay healthy (otherwise their teeth grow too long and can cause serious problems). He should have something that it's ok for him to chew on when he feels the need.

Feel free to contact me if you need any clarification or have anymore rabbit questions.

The bitter apple or bitter orange stuff should work I would think. Normally what is used to keep rabbits from biting stuff is tobasco sauce or any kind of hot sauce. They don't like hot stuff.
