who doesn't want corn and tin? he invaded england for more than that, though. a hint for ye: corn feeds soldiers (amongst others), tin and iron are necessary to make weapons and tools, and are geographically bound, and silver and gold were worth as much, then, as they are now, if not more (and are also stuck in the ground in less than always convenient locations). RTFM!

corn= eat
tin= to fashion weapons and tools
gold= coins, jewellry, valuables
silver= same
iron= same as tin

all these were also traded in other countries in exchange for stuff like silk
