Be honest. Say "I'd rather not answer that." They may be curious why you wouldn't answer their question, but if they are a friend, they will respect your privacy and they will know you have your reasons.

When someone asks you a question that is none of their business, all you have to do is look them in the eye with a 'You've got a lot of nerve!' look on your face. Then just continue doing, or talking about, whatever you were before the question was asked.

People who ask questions like that are rude! You don't owe them a poite response.

You could say something like....I don't talk about that...or in Chicago I hear they'll say something like.....how about them bears!...that, from what I hear means...I'm ignoring you, not answering...makes no sense to me personally, but I'm not from there...

Just say that you would rather not talk about it. I know, easier said than done.
