Why is the game of soccer a game for cheats and where do the players get their acting skills ?
Cheating Facts :-
1. Pretending to be dead for a short time.
2. Challenging the referee's decision.
3. Stealing territory at 'free kicks' and 'throw-ins' ?
4. Falling over in order to fool the referee that he has been fouled.
5. Fouling and hurting the opponent.

someone once said
football is a toffs game played by thugs
Rugby (Union) is a thugs game played by toffs
The amount of money in the higher echelons of the professional game encourage a win at any coszt mentality. Managers turn a blind eye, or in some cases actually encourage it. Media pundits are apologists for it - how often do you here the pundit attempt to pass of some piece of GBH as 'a little bit late'. Refedrees are undermined by players, managers and the crowds. How often do you hear managers agree with a decision which led to their player getting booked or sent off, or fail to apologise for one of their players 'excesses'. - You are far more likely to see them complaining about unfair treatment, or the referee was 'harsh'.
Like most human behaviour if you get away with it once, you will try harder next time and push the boundaries further.

well, if you look at it that way, it sure isn't beatiful. if you're an optimistic like me, you'll see that football is called the beautiful game because of the comradery of the players and the fans, the loyalty to your team and to your country, the impact that it has on places like europe and even places like south america, the way it is played (on a good note) with excellent plays and lots of skill and talent, the passion that the players and fans have for the game. it's called the beautiful game because it is beautiful, if you see that side of the situation. if you look at football the way that you mentioned above, then hey, that's just what you see. but what i just said, is how i see the game of football.
