Is this true about confidence? That when you are very confident you dont give a confidence a second though, you hardly think about your self at all, because your attention becomes absorved
in situation or experience at a time. And when you are very confident you can tolerate uncertainty very easily, what ever happens I will be able to handle it. Confidence is spontenous. Do you agree with this?

Actually, yeah :o) Being too "aware" of the moment is contraindicative of self-confidence, very well put.

Hello!! :o) I do agree - to some extent. But it's also possible that the character traits you're describing belong to an 'obsessive' personality. A person might just be SO focused on the 'interest' of the moment - that they CAN'T 'see' anything else around them. [Or entertain any other thoughts or feelings] Sometimes we assume things about people that aren't really true. And I think this certainly applies to how confident we THINK someone might be. Many professional singers - for instance - are sick to their stomachs before going on stage. So what we might assume is super confidence - is - in fact - courage. They are courageous enough to break through the emotional wall of fear that most of us dare not even approach. Craig!! :o)

no
have you heard of over confidence, this is generally, when young people, who have 'limmited' experience, belive that they actually have achieved a certail god like status, and do things like driving at 150mph on tiny roads, then they die... i was once very confident, but time, and then general nastiness of life, have proved that any perception of confidence, can be removed by something more disturbing, or terrible than you thought could ever happen to you. i am no longer 'confident' but i try to be true to the situation, will i die today, probably not, its not confidence, its a reasond guess.

no I do not agree that confidence is spontaneous...confidence comes from experience and knowledge ...it is a learned attribute that you either have or don't ...it doesn't come and go at will.
