Juice and mineral water aren't soft drinks. Soda and soft drink are the same thing. Soft drink is as opposed to hard drink which is alcoholic.

Any drink with alcohol is a hard drink. Any drink without alcohol is a soft drink. However, many people use soft drink to mean soda. For example, on a menu you might see these options under DRINKS: Soft drink, Milk, Juice.

Juices are soft drinks (as opposed to hard drinks that contain alcohol). Soda is the old fashioned term for carbonated drinks like Coca-Cola, Pepsi etc,

this definition would suggest the answer to your first question is, "no". however, in a less rigorous fashion, one could consider any nonalcoholic beverage "soft".

soda would seem to be, merely, a regional generic name for a soft drink.

Generally everything that doesn't contain alcohol is considered a soft drink. Water therefore is also a soft drink.

Only the juices that only contain like 3% juice are consdered soft drinks (the added sugars actually make some a lot WORSE that regualr sodas)
