It is already happening. At least where I live.

I'm from Mexico and the main telephone company is already offering video-calling service.

This have been Technically Feasible since the late 50's to early 60's the problem is
1) Cost - this has gone down some but is still significantly high.
2) Marketing or a perceived need has not been established, 1 way presentations are fine for teaching something, but for conversations I often will not want to show or be shown the other person.
So don't wait for a video phone.

Like above, it's already happening. What we need to look at in the next 3 years is probably clarity, speed and lower cost.

Its already happening , mobile phones are 3G now, which means that you can have video to video calls.
