In internet explorer, go to tools, internet options, click on delete cookies, delete files, and delete history. This will clear all your internet activity.

Once a site has been accessed, there's always a record. Even if you delete your cookies, clear your cache, and zero out all the sectors on your hard drive, there's still the connection and IP address on the sites you visited.
The only ways to be untraceable are:
(a) Use public wi-fi and clean out your handheld's storage often
(b) Use internet cafes instead of connecting at home
(c) Use anonymizing proxy websites that let you view sites witout your actual IP being seen. If they don't keep track, then you're okay, but most will keep a record and will turn it over to the police if they're asked.
I sometimes use anonymizers to post political comments too strong for this username.

Clearing history will only clear the URLs. You can also clear the temporary files and trash them from the bin. But all these are only for Internet Explore. If you have Firefox or other browers, you need to clear those records too. Some other applications that may store URL records are like Media Player. However you clear them, ultimately, your ISP will still have record of your history :(

Oh - been to naughty sites then, eh?
Open Internet Explorer and from Tools, select Internet options, and delete cookies, files and all offline content and set History to zero days.
Search for your recent files folder and empty it too.

Erase your hard drive. It is the only way. Everything you do on a computer even things that you delete still leave a ghost. So to truly remove it permanently you have to format the hard drive.

Have a close look at the icons on the tool bar. Can you see a small black upside down triangle at the side of every icon, well if you click on it a drop down menu will appear with all sorts of things on it.
The one you want is on the left of the search box. look for options and personalize your tool bar.
you can also highlight the search and press delete on your keyboard.

Your gonig to have to download a program just to be able to read that file. Just make sure you read up about the index.dat file.
