D&D allows those with a low self esteem to become powerful beings in a world they can create.
They can make their character as strong and good looking as they want them to be with just a roll of the dice.
Funny story here though,, I saw a moving company in the Cleveland Ohio area called "D&D Movers" First thing I said to my roommate was "Quick,, make a saving thow against them breaking all your dishes!"

not everybody who likes d&d is a geek. Vin Disel (or however you spell it) likes D&D.The guy who played Wesley Crusher in ST:TNG works for a roleplaying magazine...
try and research a bit more before you open your yap.!
