I have asthma as well. Maybe he could try a nicotine patch or something. He needs to be aware that due to your condition, he is endangering your health. At the very least, he shouldn't smoke in your presence. I hope he can find away to kick the habit. If not for himself, for you.

We can't MAKE people do anything . All you can do is encourage him . If you approach him in a hostile manner he will only resent you and keep up his addiction . That is what smoking is an addiction not a habit ! Most people who don't smoke can not understand this . I SMOKED for 38 years !!! I decided 4 months ago that I WANTED to quit ! I haven't had a cigarette since . I used the nicotine gum . Up till this try I was positive that I would never be able to quit because I smoked for so many years and was so addicted . As I mentioned before IT MUST BE APPROACHED GENTLY . I used to get hostile when people tried to attack my nasty addiction . It was a life long friend and constant companion . It was also my pacifier . You might at some time tell him about this lady who you talked to you who was able to QUIT after 38 yrs. BE GENTLE and give him time !!!

You cant make anyone quit smoking unless they WANT to quit. Example; I joined the Marines and was force to quit for 14 whole weeks as there were no smoking in Boot Camp. Since it was against my will it meant nothing. The minute I got the opportunity I went to get a pack of smokes. When I actually decided I WANTED to quit (4/26/05) I quit. So my point is a person can only quit because they want. They can tell you they wanna quit for you but unless they want to quit for themselves its all lip service. You should consider leaving this guy. I know you may love him but is love worth risking your health?!? Your not the one with the addiction he is; but you will both suffer the consequences (maybe you more so since you have asthma)

You should tell him, that he either quits smoking or your not going to have sex with him. 2 things can happen

1. He will quit smoking in less then 2 weeks or

2 He will continue to smoke and get his fix with someone else, in which case you should dump him cause he wasn't good enough for you in the first place.

You need to support him and help him to quit.

There are many ways to quit smoking. Different approaches work for different people.

My father quit smoking last year after he was recommended a product by Rick Beneteau.

He gave it a try and he managed to quit smoking within one month.

Our family is very proud of him because his health has greatly improved (my mom especially, because now she has more money to buy more fancy shoes, lol).

Anyways, I hope this product can help you too.

Find a different guy, if you have asked him lots of times he would have quit by now if he was planning to (even though it's really hard to quit).

He doesn't sound like he's planning to change so you will need to move on and find yourself a non-smoking guy.

He's a grown-up, so you can't make him do anything. But you have to decide what you want to do. If I had asthma, I would tell the person I couldn't be around him or her. Not as a threat, but for real.
