The different choices are 0 to 3 apples, 0 to 4 bananas, 0 to 5 mangoes

Find all possible combinations and subtract 1 (for 0 apples, 0 bananas and 0 mangoes)

so, u have total possibilities as 4 x 5 x 6 = 120

(4 because 4 options for apples i.e. 0 to 3, 5 because 0 to 4 possibilities for bananas, and 6 becuase 0 to 5 possibilities for mangoes)

Subtract 1 to get all possibilities = 120 -1 = 119

I think you left part of the question out. If you only have to choose one fruit, there are basically only 3 choices, either an apple, a banana or a mango. Or you can have 12 choices, as there are 12 pieces of fruit.
I am trying to point out that you need to have some sort of combination, like at least one piece in each of 4 lunch bags, or something along those lines.
There is a formula for combinations:

Where the number of combinations (C) of (n) elements are taken (r) times:

n n C r = n!
r ----------------------
(n - r) ! r!

The nCr term has the n and the r as a subscript. I can't do that without the correct font. The n over the r is supposed to be in long parentheses.
If you complete the question, I can help you more. This formula keeps running together when I click submit.

Apples can be chosen in 3 ways ( 1,2 or 3 coz we hav 2 choose at least one)
Similarly others in 4 And 5 ways
Now by fundamental principle of counting Total no. of ways =3*4*5= 60

i think if you take the 4 bananas now make sure they are sweet and chop them up nicely,,and apples you want to get rid of the peels and chop the apples up small, peel mango chop it up small, and add some whip cream and some nuts..and maybe some almond extract..you would have a great fruit salad...infact take a chance don't add the whip cream just try it with the nut flavor i have and it turns out good..but you wanna make sure it covers every bite..
