you should definitely get checked if you think you are in labor or have any danger signs as dicussed with your doc.You should be comfortable with his/her handling of your health and understand the plan of care for you and your chances of having complications this time. Some conditions dont tend to re-occur or are random and others can have a tendancy to recur-only a health care person could tell you that for sure. So you should understand why the doctor is choosing the timing of your c-section. You need to communicate directly and not be shy during visits so to avoid misundertandings or being unsatisfied with your care. Your doctor wont know unless you speak up. Make alist of questions fo r your next appointment and hand it to the doctor or nurse early in the appt so you dont forget. Then, this is the important thing: Dont listen too much to family or friends as they can make you confused after you have discussed it all and feel comfortable. They ask why is he doing this thatway, my doctor said..blah blah blah..and when I had MY baby ......on and on. People get way too involved with your care when it is really between you and your doctor and perhaps father of the baby. Tell them they can best help you by planning the shower or making you a dinner or taking you for a lunch or whatever, but you'd rather skip the medical talk as it makes you uncomfortable.

.Remember If you are found to be not in labor after being checked(many ladies are not in labor even though they may have some contractions) you will not be able to have the surgery sooner than scheduled due to inconvenience to the hospital/ number of staff available and doctors plans. ON the other hand,if there are complications at the time you are being evaluated for possible labor or if you have a history of complications that may recur this time, your doctor may decide you need to have the baby sooner than your due date for those reasons. Often a repeat c-section is scheduled a few days or a week or so before your due date.
As you may know, when in labor- the rare but dangerous complication of a patient who had a previous c/section is uterine rupture(uterus opening up around the old scar due to stretching of the contractions on the uterus) which can be fatal to mom and baby .
Even though this complication is very very rare you still want to follow your doctors instructions very carefully, and be checked out for labor if you are having the signs of labor or if you are not sure if you are or not. (usually doctor will give you a list of things to watch for and discuss it with you as you near your due date)
Good luck and relax!

It all depends on what complications you had with the first pregnancy. If the second one isn't complicated then they might wait and see how you progress. Again, it just depends on the reason for the first c-section. Some doctors don't like allowing women to deliver vaginally after they have had a c-section because it carries the risk of uterine rupture. Others are more open to the idea. I think this would be a good question to ask your OB. Good luck and congrats!

they might try to give you something to stop the labor. It just depends on wether or not they think that your child would be at risk either way. they generally would like to keep the baby in for as close to term as possible , to ensure all of the babies internal organs will have been properly formed.

The choice is your to make, unless your doctors have some health reason for you to have a C-Section. I have included a link that discusses this topic.

Even if you had a CS for your first pregnancy it doesn't mean that you should have one for the second one, so each pregnancy must be evaluated by itself and the CS decision made upon that.

Not to alarm you, but they probably will if the situation warrants it.

Hope you have a great delivery!
