be honest, have you ever wondered who in the world did it and why?
Or get a little "irritated" by it?
Especially if it was voted best answer. ^_^

sometimes I wonder, but it doesn't bother me. If I think about it, I probably wonder what particular thing it was that made them thumb down me. Although I get caught up in the political threads on Yahoo! answers a lot and some people just go down the list and thumbs down anybody who disagrees with them. I'll put it this way: the pleasure from somebody giving you a thumbs up far outweighs the thumbs down.

yes, it is irritating to get a thumbs down especially if you know that you made a good point.

what is more irritating is when you took time to give a good answer and the asker chooses a simple "yes" or "no" as best answer-- lol. or simply gives away 10 points to a friend. or worse, to a bf/gf no matter how weird the answer was.

but later on, i just charged that to human nature, it doesnt bother me anymore. im more choosy of the questions that i answer. i look for askers who seem to be genuinely looking for answers and just have fun giving my two cents worth.

It's usually from people that are poor sports. It doesn't really matter to me. No points are given. I actually thought it was a pretty stupid "feature" Yahoo included a while back.

Some people think it helps the "asker" to make their decision on which answer to vote for. I have NEVER used their votes to make my decisions.

I'm sure I wouldn't know. :) Although now I'll probably get one since I'm being a smart alec. It might bother me a little, but I have no idea what their motivation is so I wouldn't get too annoyed by it. To be honest, once I answer a question I really never look at my answer again so I probably would never know.

Don't look and don't care. Some of my answers are just for fun, and some are because I have an opinion to share. People don't have to agree. But I think people hit the thumbs down just because they can. THE POWER JUST GOES TO THEIR HEAD!!!!!

when you answer any question to the best of your ability this is all you can do. everyone has their areas where they are more knowledgable than others. don't take offense as who knows what you might get on the next one. remember the ols saying " everyone to their own opinion said the farmer when he kissed his cow. "

It depends on the section that I've answered the question. Sometimes I get a kick out of it.
