i don't really know but i would try two things
one/ go to system restore and roll back your computer to just before it started
two/ type "stinger into your search engine and download 'Mcafee avert stinger" its only a 1.2MB stand alone anti virus tool. It will scan your computer for worms and things.

good luck

I think you should try stopping the Index Service. To do this, follow these steps:
Start > Search
Click on "Change Preferences" in the Search Companion.
Click on the option which either reads "With Indexing Service" or "Without Indexing Service"
Choose "No, do not enable Indexing Service"
Click OK. Restart Windows (Please see note below.)
If this doesn't work, then you have to reinstall Windows. If you are inexperienced in using computers, call your computer manufacturer's support line.

NOTE: Make sure you shut down Windows properly by clicking "Start > Turn Off Computer > Turn Off" and waiting for the computer to automatically turn off. CHKDSK usually runs in computers which are switched off without shutting down Windows.

Its not shutting down correctly. It's not going to harm anything.
