Whoever told you that must have been trying to fool you. There is absolutely no truth to it.

Just making sure, since sometimes the wrong word slips out, you do mean navel as in the laymens term bellybutton, right?

The only way your navel could cause foul breath is if you put something foul smelling there and then put it in your mouth.
