i know what you mean some parents are just thinking i gave you life you owe me. all you can do is if you live with them find a place of your own and if you dont then express to them that your grateful for the life they gave you and you love them but that now that your indipendent you need to conserve your money for what you want or may need and if they dont want to hear that then do what i do just say im sorry i dont have any money to spare

If you are living with your parents and earning money then you should pay them part of your income. Here board is around $100- $140 per week. After all they have paid for all your needs for all the years until you began earning. But I think it should be fair and most parents will just accept what it costs to feed you. I am sorry your parents fight when they don't get money from you. If it is unpleasant You could move out and get your own house but then you will see just what expenses parents have...phone bills, electricity bills, gas bills, food bills, clothes etc. It will be an eye-opener and you may see its cheaper to stay home and pay board to your parents.
However you may be from a culture that expects children to support their parents. Or you may have already left home and still be expected to pay money to them. Negotiate if possible until you have found an amount that is not too hard on you and okay for them. Talk to them respectfully and if both sides love and respect each other this should not be too hard. However if things get bad ...then leave and get started on your adventure to fulfil your dreams. But try not to leave in such a way that relationships are blown apart. Forever is a long time. Eventually they will die and you will probably be supporting your children then. How would you want your children to treat you in this same situation? All the best.

I will sugest you teach your parents ( you will have to find out exactly what they should do ) to get money from their senior citizen benefits, I mean SS, goverment, etc. In that way you minimize your portion of the amount they need. Eventually they can manage with the money they will receive. If they have a house, help them get a loan on their house. I think the best way to help them is by teaching them, or encouraging them to earn money. There are many ways they can earn money from home, working on the internet, or, simple tasks like caring for kids , part time jobs, there is many ways.
Just giving them money will not do it. Make them know you do not have that much money.

It's good to help your family out IF they need it (which you say they don't) and IF they appreciate it (which they apparently do NOT. In your case there is NO REASON that you should feel obligated to put your own life, dreams and goals on hold in order to support them. Go on with your life...they may start a fight, but if you're not there they will be fighting themselves. You must put some distance between yourselp and your family in order to pursue your dreams and goals. Don't feel guilty about doing this...it is not your responsibility to be the financial provider for your family. Move on, find happiness, and best of luck to you!

There's no problem if i have enough money. Sounds you're having a hard time budgetting your salary. Tell them how much you are receiving, in that way they know how much you can afford to give. The reason they're asking money maybe because they have no other source? if it's true, then you are the one suffers. I even have a problem like yours...pity us, but i'm not losing my hope to have a raise in my salary or a capital for a little business to have additional income, because our problem is money...let's work hard to get it but with THEM.

When I became a wage earner and lived at home it was considered right and proper to contribute to the upkeep of the household. Even when I moved out to some extent as well, because we were a large family. When they both retired I still contributed now and again by replacing old and broken household items.

Reading what you are saying I think you should divorce them completely!

First of all, no one will take you very seriously if you continue to write like a 12 year old.
If you are an adult, your money is yours to do with what you please. If your parents are rude to you, stop giving them money and go out on your own. But be sure you aren't overstating their greed. After all, haven't they paid to raise you?

well, when my mama was alive ( she just passed away a few months ago) I was able to give her anything I felt she would like, including money. But in you issue, it is hard, you need to survive too.Think of your needs before helping, but always tell them that you love them.

That sounds like pure greed to me. Tell them to get bent. If it starts a fight then so be it. It would one thing if they needed help but it sounds like they don't.
