Maybe you should look up a few sites on the internet to do with the Jewish Death Camps and you would realise that the Nazi regime were indeed bad. I don't think that people are obsessed with the Nazis and ww2 so much, it's more that it is a part of history that should never be forgotten as such horrible atrocities occurred. Women and children stripped naked and made to walk to their death. My father had books on ww2 when i was young and I found them one day and was horrified by the pictures in them of bodies piled high.

I now have a daughter who one day hopes to be a historian so has studied many parts of history including ww2 in depth, so have seen much of the work she has done which also reaffirms the horror of this time. The movies and books hope to enlighten people enough to never allow this to happen again. Maybe you could watch the show Oprah has done where she visits one of these camps and talks to a man who survived. This man lost all his family except his son and the only reason they survived was because they were fit and could be useful, all the rest of his family were gassed. Hope this is of some help to you!

Not so much an interest as in like a "liking interest" but many want to keep the story alive as a warning so that it does not happen again. Genocides are a BIG DEAL and I know that many who re-tell the story do not adore Nazi's in any way but use it as an illustration of how brutal and tragic Genocides can be. Millions died and have hopes that future generations will remember the evil of genocides and it really shows just how evil racism can manifest into.

Also many Americans died trying to stop the Nazis....if you want to look up the D-Day battle on the Net sometime. The Americans did not just walk in and out and easily defeat them.

Yes. They are the ruler by which we measure evil. They are normal people who condoned the most evil of acts because someone told them it was ok. Humans have a hard time dealing with the fact that Nazi's had daughters and mothers and drank coffee with breakfast just like everyone then went out and committed horrors against mankind unknown since the age of Rome Nazi's fascinate us because we are still looking for what seperates them from us.

Those who act devilishly fascinate people. There is no need to tell you that there are even more media devoted to Hell and its owner.

I remember as well that they canceled a videogame which was to be released in October of 2001 where you could control planes because they said they feared that people would imitate the crashes on towers of the terrorists. By the way, the game was to come out in the USA first.

It's the same thing with the devil, the world must be shown about all the atrocities nazis made and how bad they were. Isn't a fascination is surprising about how evil people can be against their equals.

because we must be reminded constantly that there was evil in this world. by knowing how and why the nazi party came into being, we can recognize the signs of another such party if we will open our eyes.

besides, during this time, the world came together as one, to confront evil. the russian, the muslim, the jew, the european, the american, etc, etc.

and yes. the nazi party and what it stood for was truly bad.

btw - i am not a jew.

imagine the opposition party takin over, here in oz john howard has been in for 10 years, for example, if he were to create his own police force (hitlers Gestapo) and special force (hitlers SS)
and have 80 million Germans at their mercy, rounded up the race (Jewish mainly) and have them all exterminated and make everyone believe this is ok, then people are inclined to wonder how such a mind can work..

i am reading Mein Kampf (My Struggle) in English. and It is actually scary to read and find how many policices if you like, are so closely similar to modern parties. People just want to understand everything.

(sorry if i offended anyone, i am an historian by hobby and i dont mean any offence)

Hello dear!
I suppose since the Nazis managed in little time to take a defeated country (Germany from WWI) and made it a nation which started WWII, which means they were well organized and had great diplomatic relations! Further, they developed new things, from weapons, technology, ... even dogs! (doberman!)
