I was just wondering because my b.f asked me and I had no clue. So I said I would find out for him... but yeah I think he is hoping the shot to kill the baby if I do get pregnant.

Depends on how many shots you keep getting. I used to be on the depo for like 5 years and they usually give you a pregnancy test before giving you the shot. (Not all the times but most of the times) If that is something you are worried about all you have to do is ask the nurse giving you the shot if a pregnancy test before giving you the shot. It dont take but like 5 minutes of your time if that.
Are you wanting it to kill the baby if that happens? Also in most of the case not all but most, when you get pregnant on the depo shot its a tubal pregnancy and it would have to be terminated. Thats not always the case cause some females do get pregnant while on the depo and its not a tubal pregnancy and things are fine. However it can cause birth defects.
Tell your boyfriend, that chances of the depo killing the baby is very slim. However depending on how many shots you continue to get it can cause low birth weight, birth defects, or a tubal pregency and in that case the doctor will have to terminate the pregeancy. I was on the depo for a little over 5 years and I asked the same questions.

No it will not harm the baby like that. It may cause low birth weight. No studies have shown or linked any birth defects from using depo while pregnant however you should stop it. Check out this web site it is a good one and it is written very good and easily understood.
