I phoned the cable company to get my cable disconnected last week, but chickened out. Still contemplating killing my TV.

I've thought about this lots of time. I wonder how much more I'd get done if I stopped using this damned computer all the time. Or the TV being on all the time in my kids' lives. Or my husband's stupid video games, etc., or even most pointless noisy "music".
There's so much more to do out there.
Like reading, writing, dreaming, drawing, sports, outdoor recreation, playing an instrument, a hobby, a business, furthering your education, and so much more!
Here are my goals (I have yet to start *cough cough*):
1. Get back to my normal weight
2. Cure my insomnia
3. Speak Spanish with my kids more often
4. Teach my girls their schooling
5. Get my businesses up and running better than they already are
6. Keep the house cleaner
7. Further my education
8. Live my dreams instead of just dreaming about living them
9. Write the many books I have planned
10. Patten some of the "inventions" I've come up with
11. Further my spiritual knowledge of the scriptures, etc.
12. Spend more quality time with my kids
13. Learn how to sew
14. Run marathons
Gosh, I could just go on and on.....

I rarely watch TV or play video games when I am enrolled in college courses. When I have a break in between semesters or holidays I tend to forget about them. This has been the last 2 1/2 yrs. of my life. As a result, I do more reading, hanging out with friends I have no time for during the semester, and sleeping! I think TV and v games draws us away from the things that give our life real meaning. Just don't take away Project Runway or Lost! JK...I catch them when I think of it, every once in awhile...

Take away my computer with those things too and I'd be a productive member of society, instead of on this thing all of the time.
I think without the TV/video games/computers our lives would be much more productive and the quality would probably be better too.

It may work for some folks. I am productive enough at work. When I get home I just wanna curl up with a good book or movie.

I don't think it would boost like you're expecting. Its the same phenomenon as noting how people who take regular breaks at work get more accomplished.

We don't really need those things. We could be more productive without it and get things more done and people would stop procrastinating.

Good question. I think that we would be able to accomplished so much more with our lives. Maybe we would become more like 'leaders' and not so much like 'followers' . What do you think about that ?
